We were young. We had no idea what the future held. We said our vows in a homemade dress and a rented tux, and he was optimistic enough to teach me how to drive a tractor that summer. I retaliated by acquiring sheep the next summer and returning to my ranching roots. Somehow, we struck a compromise, and we have been fine tuning our partnership for 14 years.
