Cough, Sputter, Hack

I spent the morning pounding steel fence posts, wiring up fence, shoveling grain and mouse droppings, and doing other assorted unpleasant tasks.

We are preparing for new arrivals. The idea sounded okay a month ago when the order was placed, but in the middle of coughing and hacking up dust while shoveling this morning, I remembered.

So why am I going through all this again?

I guess this is why.

oh, that is priceless! what a sweet photo.
I've been doing the same. We recently got 6 chicks to add to the 6 we already have. But I love my chickens.
The rabbits.. well, that's another story. Not my favorite. At least i get eggs from the chickens.
But, man, I dislike shoveling rabbit poop!

Just be glad you don't have 132,000 chickens to deal with! lol

What a sweet photo. I'm with you on not liking chickens, though. My mum kept chooks when I was young (still does.)

I have just published a blog post with a link to your 'summer holiday' post.

and that is as good a reason as any! LOL kids and animals, nothing more precious.

but those da#$ chickens grow up! LOL messy messy birds LOL

As my kids got older we slowly got rid of all the small animals, rabbits, guinea pigs, goat, pb pig, now all we have are horses and dogs and a cat! And my youngest is 18.
