What We Need Is A Freeze

We have been living with these creatures for too long.

They made lace out of the pumpkin leaves. They shredded the corn. They obliterated the carrots and onions.

Now that not much green remains, they are still hanging on.

They're attacking the newly emerged winter wheat.

Enough of the 80 degree temperatures.

It's time for snow.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I despite grasshoppers! They're all clingy and gross and besides eating crops I have had them eat holes in the screens of our house *our screens are fabric*. Hoping you get a freeze soon. Temps are getting down there at night around here so it looks like our freeze couldn't be too far off.

Hard for us Texans to even think about freezing temps - we're still in the upper 80s and low 90s most days.

However, I hope YOU get your freeze very soon. Just keep it up north, okay?

Amen, bring on the snow. Ok, well maybe just a freeze. I'm downright afraid of anything with more than 4 legs (my husband calls me an "indoor girl"), so now that it's autumn and getting a little chilly, all the bugs in a 6 block radius seem to be trying to find sanctuary in my house. Can't. Live. Like. This!

Blessings, Whitney

PS, I had to scroll really fast through your post to get to the heart of it... cause the bug pictures made my teeth itch. But I just wanted to let you know I like your blog that much. Kudos to you for getting so close! :o)

I heard our electric fence snapping the other day and when I checked it out...a grasshopper had landed on the wire and was up against the fence post making it arc....what the heck...have never seen that before! Anyway, he was DEAD and one less grasshopper is ok with me!

OH-NO-SNOW! Freeze? Ok...NO SNOW! My gardens done, so they can 'have at it'...and they are! But now we've got what I think are called "stinky Bugs" coming into the basement...yuuukkkkk!
Snow can come around Christmastime!
