A Real Job

I'm going to work tomorrow.

This job has nothing to do with cows, horses, wheat, chickens, manure, gardening, diapers, or church.

I will actually have to shower before I do this work, not afterward.

As if that's not novel enough, this is the kind of job that comes with a paycheck.

Can anyone guess what it is?

Teaching? Something at a newspaper? Public speaking gig?

Hope you're at least taking your camera along!

Be blessed, whatever you're doing today!

Dollar says its teaching. Based on the no cows and plows statement, that excludes writing and speaking- and maybe a wrong conclusion, but I cannot see you doing either without weaving in something from the farm. I know if I hired you to speak I would be disappointed if you did not mention it. By the by, what do you charge as a speaking fee?

I'd guess writing for your paper again? Whatever it is, Have FUN! We own our own business so I'm mostly a stay at home mom, but occasionally I'll pop in for a day because sometimes I just need an excuse to put makeup on and talk to grownups! Be Blessed, Whitney

I would guess writing for the paper, too.

Hey, I do the morning feeding in my pajamas and shower and dress afterward. No sense wasting another set of clothes and taking two showers. Some of the farmers around here get dressed very nicely early each morning before heading out to do all their dirty work. One of dd's friends told her his grandpa raised him that way, said you take your work more seriously and take more pride in it when you're better dressed. I suppose that's one way of looking at it, and if we had a real farm and work beyond feeding and caring for 6 horses, 2 dogs, a goat, and an ever-changing number of cats making it an all day job, I might get dressed before doing the work, too. I still take pride in doing everything right and making sure those animals are well cared for.

I'm guessing subbing, too. That was my job inbetween kids and the youngest was old enough to stay with my husband or mother-in-law for a few hours. Though not often.
