Here's a challenge for you.
Identify this photo:
It's part of an old structure, and it's close to my house. What's the structure?
I'll reveal the answer and more pictures Thursday night. . . but I bet someone will guess correctly before then.
Meanwhile, I'm going to enjoy the beautiful rain that has finally made its way to our part of the country. It is truly an answered prayer.

The barn foundation?
That is just a guess, I am probably way off! It looks really cool!!
That is a very stong wall It was made back when hehehe stong and will last for years is it part of the wall to your barn or is it the loading area by the barn? Is the farm girl right even if Im living in the city life hehehehe
Can't wait to hear what it is!
I think it is partly "foundation" and that it might be a root cellar, i.e. place to "cure" beef, store veg???
The rain is nice and I hope it keeps up on a semi-regular basis for a bit - scary dry at the moment and I'm guessing it has more than fire implications for your ranch...
I think it might be part of an old log cabin. I do love your blog and reading about your life.
I say it's part of the root cellar..
Sandy
We would say root cellar.
I was going to say root cellar, but I'll ask if it's an old outhouse?
Robin.
I would say smoke house.
I don't know the english word for it, but from readin the other entries I'd say root cellar? If there is where you'd store food before the fridge came. But I really have no idea.
To change the subject I really must say I jump for joy every time I see you've done an update. There is something about your blog that makes it feel like home.
I hope you get as much rain as you need!
I am going to guess that it's the inside of the root cellar as well.
Looks just like the walls of the one my poppop had.
Looks like a barn wall or foundation, I guess. To an outhouse? Smoke house? Cellar?
My son's guess is log cabin foundation. 2nd grader
