A Mom's Paycheck

I always smile when I fill out a survey that requires me to reveal my salary.

Moms are paid in hugs and kisses, in kids who use their manners in public, and in the golden silence that follows the bedtime stories and the prayers. We don't draw a salary; we seldom even receive a "thanks, Mom."

Today I was paid in full not once, but twice. This morning, I drove the oldest two kids to the school bus at dawn.

It was worth the drive.

Tonight, after I had tucked the last feverish little body into bed and kissed the last hot little forehead, I headed to the kitchen for a glass of ice water.

These are the paychecks that will always trump a salary, even if it is six figures.

OH! So sweet!
I had something similar happen a while ago. I went down to tuck the kids into bed and written on the chalkboard by my daughter, " We have the greatest mom in the world". The best part, I hadn't even done anything special that day.
Gotta love 'em!
